Things like shopping or getting documents from Social Security have become so much easier than a few years ago. Back then, if you needed a document, you needed to go to the nearest Social Security office, wait a few minutes\/hours, and then be attended by someone who, hopefully, would get you what you needed. This often meant that you would lose a morning of work. Nowadays, you just go to the online Social Security page and get what you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"611\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.wisdomignite.pt\/itv2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Why-Technology-won-t-Take-Our-Jobs-Away_2-1024x611.jpg\" alt=\"Why Technology won\u2019t Take Our Jobs Away\" class=\"wp-image-26607\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Some people say that this is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.wisdomignite.pt\/itv2\/como-pode-a-inteligencia-artificial-ser-usada-em-publicidade-no-futuro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"taking people\u2019s jobs away (opens in a new tab)\">taking people\u2019s jobs away<\/a><\/strong>. Of course, if you can get what you want directly from a website, there is no need to have someone permanently attending people to print documents. But is this really a bad thing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fifty or sixty years ago, all production lines were fully composed of humans. Each with a very specific function like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wisdomignite.pt\/why-technology-wont-take-our-jobs-away\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"pressing a button (opens in a new tab)\">pressing a button<\/a><\/strong>. Now, most work is done by robots. Despite humans having the ability to become experts at what they do after doing the same thing several times, the error rate is still very high when compared to a robot. Was this taking people\u2019s jobs away or is it removing the machine\u2019s work from humans?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Chaplin Modern Times-Factory Scene (late afternoon)\" width=\"1020\" height=\"765\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HPSK4zZtzLI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><em>Give to Humans what is Humans\u2019 and to Machines what is Machines\u2019<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Human work should be directed to what machines can not (at least for now) do. Humans are reserved for the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.wisdomignite.pt\/itv2\/como-pode-a-inteligencia-artificial-ser-usada-em-publicidade-no-futuro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"rights of innovation (opens in a new tab)\">rights of innovation<\/a><\/strong> and decision making. No one should be pushing a button eight hours a day and call it a job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides, when a job goes down, some are just rising. Every robot or technology that has \u201c<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wisdomignite.pt\/why-technology-wont-take-our-jobs-away\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"taken people\u2019s jobs (opens in a new tab)\">taken people\u2019s jobs<\/a><\/strong>\u201d need maintenance and upkeep. Most of the time, this is done by someone other than a robot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"611\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.wisdomignite.pt\/itv2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Why-Technology-won-t-Take-Our-Jobs-Away_2-1024x611.jpg\" alt=\"Why Technology won\u2019t Take Our Jobs Away\" class=\"wp-image-26607\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The day will arrive when Artificial Intelligence will <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wisdomignite.pt\/why-technology-wont-take-our-jobs-away\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"enable machines (opens in a new tab)\">enable machines<\/a><\/strong> to do even more than they are capable of now. There are already prototypes that can do medical diagnosis with a lower error rate than an actual doctor. When that day arrives, society will have to adapt to the current reality: it\u2019s almost impossible to compete with a robot\u2019s quality (being that accuracy, productivity, etc). We all have to be ready to accept that some things that needed a person to exist, don\u2019t need anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adapt to your reality.
